The first entry we received was Hookclaw Terradon by Rashaskool. Although the reference in the name was spotted by Bell the name still didn't follow the convention which is why the name was given a grade D, where as the effect was still much better and was given a B.
Next was Terradragon, Daft Winged by Anik, our last months winner, who won for his card Swashing Spark. The effect was seen by the judges as overpowered because of the creatures power. Also because of a the lack of a link in flavor text with the rest of the card this one fell short. Better luck next time.
Then came Super Divine Dragon Of Requiem by Night Master. Even though the flavor text fell short when compared to everything else, Bell liked the name and its connection with the effect. The card was carefully analyzed for balance and the effect was given a respectful B+.
Green Divine Silver Wing Dragon by Pyro Fighter was next. It was felt that although both effects where great individually but when they are put together they made it overpowered. If you had chosen to go with either one of the two effects the card would've been a lot better overall.
Super Divine Dragon Of Forever by Darshan followed, the flaw in the naming convention for this one was an issues but a bigger issue was that the card was underpowered. The effect is genius and as Kyuukei pointed out that it could've definitely been one of the winning cards with you have simply allowed the shield protection to both sides rather than just opponent. This why we time and again stress on how people need to use the support option more, regardless of the naming convention a simple change from opponent to both would've put this one in the running for the win, it might have even won. Support!
Super Terradragon Stormrage by Relinquished was next. Relinquish is also one of our proud past CCC winner who won for her Freya, the Armed Negotiator whose art she currently uses proudly as her avatar. This entry definitely showed why she is great at CCC. The efficiency of the effect had us thinking of all sorts of situations where this card would totally pwn.
Both the name and effect got an A grade but it was the flavor text that Bell felt tied everything perfectly where as Kyuukei found it an interesting form of defense. I'm sure I speak on behalf of all the judges, Great Job!
Next came Super Terradragon Stormwanderer by Palas. Although we normally judge these entries individually I couldn't help but compare the name to that of Relinquished's entry. I must say I like the name Stormrage better, though there is still a lot more in this entry for one to like. Palas has been a CCC contestant for a while now but unlike Relinquished he hasn't pulled off a winning entry yet. Considering how well Relinquished and Palas get a long (hehe), I like to think that Palas stepped up his game after seeing the quality in Relinquish's entry. Either way I for one am very proud of this entry by Palas, the Soulshift mechanism has been introduced in a very balanced way, the name and flavor text are very fitting. Bell pointed out how the card works well with Terradragon Arque Delacerna. Over all it was decided that this entry has almost equality with that by Relinquished.
Terradragon Cranidale by Ignatius had an effect that was not reflected by the art. Your attempt to balance the card by using the return all creatures from mana effect was the main thing that kept this one down.
Super Terradragon Skyfax by Romanoff Blitzer was liked by all the judges. The card was creative. Unlike a lot of the cards that say they are 'fast' in their flavor text, what I really like about this one is that it really is fast. Also for me this one has the best name out of all of the entries. Bell liked the flavor text and thought it was simple yet effective. Bell gave this a overall B+ grade, Kyuukei gave it a B+, and I am going to give it an A+ just because I think it reflects the art extremely well, great job. Keep it up.
Next was Terradragon Silver Claw, Dragon of the Black Clouds by dark boy. Bell liked the name though she felt it should probably be something else 'of the Black Clouds' instead of repeating 'dragon'. It does stand out from the other entries for some reason, but the over all design wasn't fit for the art.
TerraDragon Warrior Balkon by KAI12345 could not win because it was 4/6500 Double Breaker. Though Bell did feel that the Flavor Text is almost good.
Terradragon Ghlastion by Burner was a nice entry. I enjoyed this one, it was very complete, and just like Palas, Burner also has a history with CCC, which is always nice. Kyuukei found the name intriguing. This entry showed off that Burners understanding of the game has improved a lot. The only thing that we felt was kinda off with this card was that it could've easily given double breaker at 6000. Other than that this one was brilliantly done, and got the respect of all of the judges. Bell felt it all ties together really well, and she put it up there with her other two favorites.
Then came our last CCC's winner, Outcast with his Super Terradragon Braun-Blanquet. This one fell short as compared to his Hellfire Quencher entry from the last CCC. The main thing we feel that went wrong with this one was that it was over done. Kyuukei suggests that you focus more because there are parts of that entry that are seriously great. Bell feels that what you needed was some support from someone to tell him which was the best effect to keep. She personally thought the third effect was epic and wonderful but suggests that you ask for support next time. I also suggest that you do so, because that way you will not only have a greater change of winning (again) but would be able work with someone and together you both could win. Good Luck next time!
Terradragon Blyrujin by Duelme was one that stood out even just by the its name alone. Nice name. But thats not the only thing that stood out to us judges about this particular entry, its surprising how this entry got this far without having someone Support by pointing out that the main effect was missing a trigger! All the judges agreed that no effect trigger = no possible rating.
Next was Terradragon Beschutzer, Tree Protectorate by searn. This was definitely one of the instant favorite cards. Kyuukei feels this one has one of the best flavor texts ever. Honestly its a GREAT idea for a card, even perhaps the best one. The name is brilliant, it picks up on the effect very well. The effect is beautiful, its exactly the sort of effect that would flourish in KP. But unfortunately, the card in its current state is overpowered. Bell explained this in detail, she said that the thing that makes it overpowered is that it doesn't say 'can't be destroyed'. This messes with a lot of things, Mana Nexus, Earthstomp Giant, Ucarn and even mana retrieval becomes impossible. Its sad, this one was really close to winning, and it certainly got us all very excited. The judges agreed that if it said 'can't be destroyed' instead, it would have definitely won!
Terradragon Geoquake by mYsTeRiOuS was our second last entry. Bell really loved the flavor text. But it the effect was too weird that it summoned so many creatures at once, and it becomes kind of like a gamble and impossible to execute. Better luck next time. Great job with the Flavor text! love the World Tree reference.
Last, but not least was Terradragon Wesgazora by Radical One. This one was compared to Scarlet Skyterror, considering the cost and power ratio and effect. Of course that was intentional and we liked the idea of a Nature Scarlet. But Kyuukei pointed out the giving the opponent mana like that gives them a lot of room for rebounding. Bell too felt that the card could've been stronger in some way. She also felt the flavor text was too referency, I personally would've loved it if it was written in a way that La Ura was saying that to Mihail. But over all regardless of everything, this one was still ranked among the top 5 entries. It was very complete and well executed. Good job, keep it up!
Now for the results.. I apologize for taking so long to make this Results post, I've been busy with a lot of different stuff going on. So...without further adieu, the winning entries for CCC#4 are.......*drum roll*......Relinquished's Super Terradragon Stormrage and Palas's Super Terradragon Stormwanderer!
