You don't need any tools, if the fighter you want to go with is from a reasonably popular game then you should be able to find a image of him/her with a white background easily.

If you still can't, let me know, I'll edit it.

@Burner You can edit that image to remove the background, shouldn't be much work considering you have Photoshop (not that difficult with paint either).
