I do understand what you are getting at but there are certain Newbies who WANT to excel at the game and when they SHOW the effort the receive attention back.
Most Newbies just add random cards to decks because they 'like' them and don't even come around the forums. If I notice someone actually giving a damn instead of just messing around, then I'm like 'hey, have you heard of Kirricorp forums? Check 'em out post your deck and hang around, man.'

Have you ever complain to your teacher at the school you are attending about how they are not teaching you? It's not a smart thing to do. They get aggravated, see you as ungrateful because they are helping you whether posting on your deck or not. Discussions that occur within other topics can help any duelist, not just the one who posted the deck.

It's not a 'problem with his teachers' it is bluntly saying "You are not teaching the Newbies" to the people who are teaching the Newbies.

I never received the attention my decks get now at the start, but since I put the effort in I receive a lot more attention.

Half the Newbies are just pulling cards together because they think they look cool and don't wish to move past that at all.
When Newbies post decks that look like they are trying, then they receive attention.
For God's sake I was a damn Newbie, not even a year ago.
Now I am a Zephyr Knight.

Agree with cap'n. Everione starts a newbie. Complaining won't make people help u faster... They help when they can, and they help a lot. And they cant be ur personal teachers. U have to learn by yourself .... they're just here to guide u in the right way.

This looks like complaining to me.

You're right, we can help a bit more, but we can't hold peoples' hands through the journey of getting better. Most of that is done on the own player's accord. Watching other people play, reading articles (Bell has a great series of articles here on the forums to read), and taking note of what's of use are all ways one can improve. Once you have a firm grasp of that, you can then start to innovate.

As Cap'n said, people that show the desire to want to get better are more likely to get help. And as I said earlier, most newbies don't stick around. Those that do and reap benefits. Patience is the key to success, but people seem to forget that little nugget of information. There is a direct correlation between those that show this patience and stick around and post and come to chats and their dueling ability going up.

Also, speaking of chats, chats are a great way to get help from people, we talk about things all the time there. It IS a chat, so DM won't be talked about 24/7, so us talking about video games, anime, or anything else is bound to happen.

KP isn't a porn website where no matter how much you want to quit going to that website you just never get tired of coming back... KP isn't that, there are days you wanna post there are times your not in the mood... it's easy if only the masters would have become active in the beginners area maybe newbies would start to stay a little bit longer...

we should go back to the forums... chats? sure it's real time but hey, we don't have the same watch so pretty much forums are still the best for me...

Here is the thing, it doesn't matter if they are more active in non dueling area or more active on youtube listening to songs as long as beginners are getting the help. Posting on newbie decks is not the only way to help, we all post our own decks there as well to help newbies learn form them. There is a whole list of beginner decks in that area that newbies can use and learn from.

As far as Kaijudo Masters and Advanced duelist not posting there ...firstly, thats not true, if you good look most advanced and master duelist have posted there and attempted to help. Also boblovelots you are a Intermediate Duelist, Intermediate Duelist duelist can also help beginners out so why are you wasting time here in non duelist area

Not everything has to be spoon fed. Basically what you are saying comes down to " Why are master duelist wasting time writing about their great decks and not helping us as much?" which is very childish of you because what they do with their time is up to them. So its none of ur business if we are spending more time bragging how awesome we are as compared to the time I spend commenting on ur decks. As long as you know how awesome we are and why we are soo awesome, you can learn from it.

As far as dueling us, there are many kaijudo masters that do duel noobs, but thats not even the point. even if none of them duelist noobs but still were dueling each other or advanced then they would still be helping noobs as noobs can watch the existing duels and learn from that. Again, there are more ways then one of learning. I don't have to kick ur ass for you to know what you need to add in ur deck, you can see that something in my deck and add it urself.

Most Master Duelists may not have much time atleast not at this part of year which is most busy. They would prefer to utilize the scarce time to duel other good duelists.

Your suggestion is justified because you and a whole lot of other people who were supporting you in this topic don't understand how we help master duelist. This post should help you see all the different ways we help, ways which you consider waste of time. so even though I respect that you started this topic, the base for ur argument is flawed, good attempt though.

the thing is the Masters as we call them... have an area where they post their deck that don't even need revisions what so ever because it is already as solid as a stone wall...

The chats are not always active because the people there are doing other stuff, it doesn't mean there are no people there. You can always send them a personal message and get a reply. if you can't then you should stick around the chats for longer, you will be replied to.

As far as master duelist area is concerned like I said it helps by showing people what is good, why it is good, how it works. It sets the standards and shows them the right way of doing things.if you still don't understand how that helps, you are crazy.

As far as master duelist helping newbies more here is another thing i would like to mention, some decks newbies post are almost impossible to fix unless they are completely changed, so it is better if they leave the deck all together and move on to building something new. they can pick a deck from the beginner deck section and use that and learn from it to make similar decks. In fact most decks newbies make should be left alone, not fixed. That way they can move on to building something that has more potential of improvement.

as far as us 'not having the same watch' sure we don't all have the same watch but you would tend to have at least few other people who have time zones similar to urs.

the chats have people with different interests there, they can talk about whatever they like. If you ask for help you will mostly get a reply even if it isn't the reply you hope for. Most will tell you to post the deck on forums. You can't expect and instant reply on decks you post on the forums still most decks are replied to.

They don't need to feel helped to be helped.

As far as getting newbies to stay more that is something that requires a push from both sides. most duelist who want to play kp enough will keep coming back.

This game is our hobby, we do it for fun, and nearly every active Kaijudo Master puts in way more time than anyone below them into bettering the game.

I've seen suggestions that every new player should have a mentor assigned to them to hold their hand until they get better.

You're asking why beginner duelist area often doesn't get many replies/suggestions? Quite often, they do. But in the end, tier 1 or 2 duelists CANNOT fix the beginner decks. Beginner decks are often at a point where they need to think what they really want to do and which direction they want to take. If fixed by pros, those decks will simply become unplayable for the beginner duelists whose low dueling skill wouldn't keep up with their deck.

This reminds me of some quote from Harry Potter. Something along the lines of "In Hogwarts, help will always be provided to those who look for it." That also applies here, seriously. There's PLENTY of ways to improve. You can ask people on chats for help. If chats don't work for you, you can try joining a clan. Clans often help in duelist development.

Other than that, there's the ways Mick suggested.

How droll, yet boring. Just skimmed over this last page but it seems the points have been said, it just seems hard for people to look at it. So it's time for me to drop by and smack everyone around with the absolute truth.

DM outside Japan and online is what it is nowadays, and frankly considering how many video games lasted even less, for a non-video game like DM to still see action is quite something. And in this context we did what we did very well.

Of course the masters do not have the time to help people. We also have lives and other responsibilities, outside of having to play and keep our game up ourselves. But we did all the work for helping that was needed, and still will.

We did write the game articles to help people understand how to play, there are card articles to help them know why something is good, and our decks are on the forums, and can be picked up by people to start playing and understanding the game.

Anybody who's played a game in his life, knows that you start from what's already there, and all card games start by copying what you see in the first instance.

Of course none of us are going to bother REPEATING EVERY TIME the SAME thing, after we already compiled it in articles or gave deck lists. It helps no one in the long term.

The problem isn't that we are not doing our job, the problem is that the newbies don't know how to search and learn the game.

And it's not actually US that have to get people and keep them here. It's actually "the masses", namely the newbies that have to and CAN get more people to join. They are supposed to bring friends and often gaming starts by having FUN with people of your OWN level. A game base grows from the noobies UP, not the other way around.
